The Stolen Generations

PART A: Individual Work

Use the Internet to find relevant information to answer the following questions in your E-journals:
  1. Between what years were the Aboriginal children forcibly taken away from their families?
  2. Why were the Aboriginal children taken away?
  3. What happened to the children who were taken away?
  4. How did this affect the children and their families?
  5. What were the results?
  6. Think back to our lesson on Government Aboriginal Policies. How do you feel about the policies that approved the removal of Aboriginal children from their families? Were they fair/ unfair?
  7. Put yourself in those children's shoes. How would you have felt being taken away from your family? Elaborate.
  8. Reflect on what you have learned and think back to out lesson on the apology. Do you think saying sorry is enough? What more is there to do?" What else can we do?
